iPad Reaches Two Million Sales

In its first 60 days on sale, Apple claims its tablet has sold at more than double iPhone's launch rate. Apple sold one million iPads in the 28 days following its April 3 US release. iPhone reached one million sales in 74 days after its launch, meaning iPad has sold at over double its rate. The company delayed iPad's international release by a month to ensure supply would meet demand, with it going on sale in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK last Friday. Apple stated that it would be releasing it in nine more undisclosed territories in July, with more following later in the year. Apple also said that 5000 apps are now available for the platform.
