MOTOGP MADNESS: RACE RAGE
Romano Fenati’s time as a Grand Prix racer could be over, after he was sacked by both his current Marinelli Snipers team and the Forward Racing squad he was due to ride for in 2019, after he grabbed Stefano Manzi’s front brake lever during Sunday’s San Marino Grand Prix. Fenati was pushed off the track by Manzi (who was docked six grid places at the next race for the stunt) earlier in the race. Seeking retaliation for the move, Fenati then applied his rival’s front brake while riding alongside him on the start-finish straight at 140 mph. Originally handed a two-race ban by the FIM Stewards Panel in the aftermath of the crash, a huge amount of attention in the story as it went viral soon prompted his teams to take action. First his current team sacked him followed by his 2019 Forward Racing squad who have confirmed that his deal for next year has been terminated.
