ASSEN MOTOGP: CLOSEST RACE EVER
The Assen circuit once again delivered an intense MotoGP battle that will go down in the history. Reigning champion Marc Marquez came out on top of an eight-rider dice for the win while the top fifteen delivered the closest
finish in premier class history. Strong winds on race day negated the impressive pace shown by Marquez earlier in the weekend and the Repsol Honda rider was unable to make a break. Instead, he spent the whole twenty six laps locked in battle with a host of other riders, only eventually pulling a gap right at the death. In fact, the Spaniard was so strong throughout the weekend he admitted after the race he was surprised how hard he had to fight. “It was a crazy race.
