Lexington’s lord of schlock makes an emotional return
STONE SOUR MIGHT
have had the longest and most successful run of the two Slipknot side-projects that launched simultaneously two decades ago, but the more feverish cult following can be claimed by the black and red followers of Murderdolls. It’s this dedication and legacy that has helped frontman Wednesday 13 solidify a fine nine-album career of his own, and as such he’s using this tour to pay tribute to where it all began in their adopted stronghold.
Bournemouth’s SOUTH OF SALEM are becoming regular tourmates of the headliner, and as such are greeted like returning heroes by the sold-out Thekla. Their goth-tinged tunes might get repetitive on record, but really come into their own live, with Joey Draper an engaging a focal point.
