News of some more superb 3D-printed releases by SSR Models. These include their first full 1/35-scale kit: the Bofors 20mm Automatkanon m/40. The kit comes in two bags with exquisitely printed parts. The first contains the wheels, seat and gun carriage, while the second contains the gun itself. A clearly drawn A4- sized instruction sheet should help modellers negotiate this one. As with all these finely printed 3D models, the main challenge will be cleanly separating the parts from their printing supports, but once you’ve done this assembly looks straightforward and you will be rewarded with a superb miniature. The Bofors has been printed as a limited edition which are now sold but I’m sure Sven-Åke can be persuaded to load up the resin again! Not a new release as such but SSR Models have also produced some very topical AK-74M Assault Rifles. Again, these are excellent, and each bag contains eight nicely printed rifles which are certainly an improvement on the various plastic versions available. At present the only way to obtain these items is by contacting SSR Models via Facebook. They have produced a nice catalogue that showcases the entire range and can be downloaded as a pdf. Well worth having a look and our thanks to SSR Models for the review samples.
