COMPOSITE CONVERSION

Javier Redondo Gimenez converts the 1970s-vintage 1:35 scale M4A1 to a Sherman Mk.IC Composite Firefly using the resin Verlinden conversion.

In my opinion, this model is the most beautiful of all the Sherman versions built. The hybrid hull, combined with the modified turret and its outstanding 17-pounder gun, make it an extremely attractive armoured vehicle that has always been among my favourite projects.

I've had this veteran Verlinden resin for many years, used to transform the Sherman into a Firefly Ic. Purchased back in the 1990s, it sat in a drawer waiting for its opportunity until a few months ago. I currently have a wide variety of plastic options available for mounting with more comfortable references to work with, but I was very fond of this reference, and even though it was already vintage and needed a little extra work, it deserved a chance.
