I want it all, and I want it now… For railway modellers nothing seems to quicken the pulse quite like a new model announcement.
As a child in the pre-internet age, I remember excitedly poring over a manufacturer’s new catalogue and scouring each page for the bright ‘NEW!’ lettering next to a revised livery or, very occasionally, completely new item.
Nowadays the humble catalogue seems almost redundant, with announcements at shows, announcements in videos, announcements on websites or forums and, bizarrely, even announcements of announcements becoming the norm.
