It would be stretching a point to call this rivetingly splenetic compilation a Rosetta stone of Welsh cultural self-determination, but not by much. The first two discs offer a suitably fluid and fractured summation of Datblygu’s 40-year stint as generational catalysts, but it’s the ‘rarities’ disc which opens up a new dimension of understanding.
