NIKON KNOW-HOW
In-camera processing
From adjusting colour to converting Raw files, you can do a lot in-camera…
Digital photography has changed not just the way we take pictures, but how these pictures are processed. In the old days, you’d choose a film with the ‘look’ you wanted, take your photos, and then send the film off to the photo lab – sometimes the photo lab would be able to apply special processing techniques too.
With digital cameras, the processing takes place in the camera. Today’s Nikons have a wide variety of in-camera processing options, which can help you achieve the particular look you want in-camera without extra work on the computer. Some models even have special effects, which would be quite tricky or time-consuming to replicate in Photoshop. And did you know that all recent Nikons contain their own Raw conversion software, so you don’t need a computer to turn NEF files into JPEGs?
