I’m thinking of doing a self-drive trip through Namibia. Is it feasible and could you suggest an itinerary? Namibia is famous for its stunning desert landscapes, excellent road infrastructure and network of trusted lodges, making it ideal for road trips. There’s a lot to see but fight the urge to cram in too many sights. Prepare to drive long distances and adhere to speed limits. It’s also a good idea to include a buffer day in case of vehicle issues. If venturing off-road, a 4WD is strongly recommended. Book in advance with a reputable rental company that offers emergency assistance. Namibia2Go is a good option. namibia2go.com Most international visitors fly into Windhoek, Namibia’s capital. Depart early for the 250-mile drive to Sossusvlei, an expanse of soaring dunes in Namib-Naukluft
