DEATH OF THE KAISER — Karel Margry tells us of the death of Kaiser Wilhelm II, the ruler of Prussia and of the German Empire, who was widely seen as the symbol of German aggression and the one responsible for the outbreak of the First World War. The Battle of Voronezh — In early July 1942, the German armies on the Eastern front, as part of Heeresgruppe Süd's renewed summer offensive and southward drive towards the Caucasus (Operation 'Blau'), attacked and captured the strategic city of Voronezh. This battle ultimately had a knock-on effect on the operation to capture Stalingrad. Jason Mark tells the story. The War Graves Photographic Project — Steve Rogers, Project Co-ordinator of The War Graves Photographic Project (TWGPP), tells how a visit to a wartime cemetery led to an incredible labour of love, stretching over 20 years, to photograph (with the help of over a thousand contributors) the graves of every British and Commonwealth casualty from both the First and Second World Wars, as well as those from later conflicts.

After The Battle

Excellent! However, I would like to see some articles about the East European theater of operations. Beoordeeld op 15 augustus 2020

Great magazines for both young and old Beoordeeld op 17 juli 2019

The Best Then & Now Military History Magazine

After the Battle began as a project in 1973 just 28 years after the end of WW2, the first issue was launched at the start of 1975 from that research. The magazine spawned into a world leading military history magazine. I recall reading archived issues of the magazine my mates father had collected, many years later you can download current and archived issues all the way back to the original. Although not focused exclusively on WW2, it is predominately a WW2 history magazine and still the best out there, highly recommended. Beoordeeld op 01 oktober 2018
