The Appleton sisters’ sole album is reissued 20 years later, including a first-time vinyl release. Whilst no neglected classic, time has been kind to it. Thoroughly grown-up sounding, there are a few hidden gems – bittersweet ballad All Grown Up and the wonderfully autumnal 5am in particular. What let the album down at the time was a certain sameyness in the production and a lack of strong singles – it’s hard to believe the chosen lead track was Fantasy, a flat-footed retread of the All Saints sound with none of the subtlety of the group’s best work
