For a certain generation, she’ll always be One Dove’s singer, but nowadays Dot Allison operates in The Wicker Man’s shadow. Hannah Peel aids Allison’s otherworldly vulnerability, elevating Milk And Honey with delicate string arrangements and overcoming Moon Flowers’ Nick Drake echoes. The acoustic spell is punctuated by understated percussion on the clarinetembellished Shyness Of Crowns and during Weeping Roses’ “flowering” climax. Ride’s Andy Bell pops up twice, including on the delicate Double Rainbow.
