Smartphone storage specifications?
Q It seems to me that phone manufacturers have changed the way they describe storage. Looking back at a couple of phone reviews from Issue 479 (published in 2016), for example, the Moto G4’s specification states that it has ‘16GB flash storage’, while the LG K8 is said to have 8GB. More recently, in Issue 709, the Samsung Galaxy A56 is quoted as having ‘8GB RAM’ but also ‘256GB storage’. It looks as if phone manufacturers are now using the same specifications as laptop and PC makers to describe ‘storage’.
