MY LIFE IN HEALTH
Art helps me express my emotions in a way that I struggle to articulate verbally. From a young age, I realised it was a powerful form of self-expression. I took GCSE art when I was going through grief with losing my grandmother and having issues with body dysmorphia. I didn’t have the vocabulary to talk about it, but was drawn to visualising it. A lot of people didn’t want to see these dark things – me trying to visualise how grief feels, or my interest in eating disorders – and I was intrigued as to why that was. It’s what made me want to pursue mental health within fine art at university.
