Do you employ young people under 25 years old? Does your company strive to develop the potential of your younger members of staff? If you are proud of the efforts you make to help your young workers, make sure you enter the Developing the Young Workforce Award in the upcoming Highland Business Awards. This year’s award is sponsored by the Developing the Young Workforce: West Highlands team. Applicants will be judged on opportunities and training offered, relationships with schools andffcolleges, and how the investment in young people enhances the organisation’s overall growth and capability. Hosted by Lochaber Chamber of Commerce, Developing the Young Workforce forms part of the Scottish Government’s youth employment strategy, which aims to ensure young people in Scotland have the skills and confidence they need to make the seamless transition from school to the workforce. The Highland Business Awards are open to companies in all sectors based in the Highlands and Islands and are awarded at the finale of Highland Business Week, which runs from Monday to Friday, September 24 to 28, in Inverness. Entries and nominations should be completed online by Friday July 27 at www.inverness-chamber.co.uk/events/event/highland-business-awards-2018 Call 01397 705765 or email info@dywwesthighland.org to find out more about working with Developing the Young Workforce.
