BEAR Scotland says it intends carrying out essential maintenance on the A82 Fort Augustus swing bridge next month.
It will mean the A82 being closed for 10 consecutive nights, from 7pm-6am, starting on January 7. There will also be some daytime lane closures involving traffic lights control. However, the A82 Partnership is looking to amend the start time to 9pm and wants to know plans for emergency vehicles. All traffic will be diverted at Invergarry via the A87 and A887, to Invermoriston. It should be noted that the B862 Whitebridge Road (south east side of Loch Ness) will also be available for through traffic.
