OBAN War and Peace Museum is one of our most treasured assets, loved by locals and visitors alike (if you haven’t visited yet, you should) and it’s in need of help at the moment, writes Oban town ambassador Kay MacDonald.
It’s run by fantastic volunteers who do two-hour shifts to keep it open to the public and at the moment they’re struggling to fill those shifts. If anyone has a few hours to spare, I would heartily recommend it as a worthwhile thing to do as well as being fun and entertaining.
We’re very lucky in Oban to be served by so many groups run by volunteers for the benefit of those of us who live in and around the town – Oban and Lorne Lions, Rotary Club of Oban, Oban Communities Trust and Oban Phoenix Cinema to name a few – people who give of their time and talents for the community and I know that they all struggle to recruit new members to lighten the load.
