CALMAC has named its new independent community board.
The creation of the 12-member board was a key element of the company’s winning bid for the Clyde and Hebrides Ferry Service contract last year. The board was shortlisted by CalMac but it promises to be ‘a strong community voice on strategic ferry issues, completely independent from the company’ with ‘no CalMac representative’.
CalMac’s director of community and stakeholder engagement, Brian Fulton, said: ‘Listening to our communities and acting on their wishes has always been central to how we organise our services.
