CHRIS Green started his railway career in the mid-1960s, but is perhaps best recognised for pioneering the ScotRail and Network SouthEast brands. At Privatisation, Virgin founder Sir Richard Branson invited him to manage the transition of two inter-city operations, and he has held non-executive director roles at the likes of Eurotunnel, Network Rail and the Dover Harbour Board. He has often been described as ‘the best chairman British Rail never had’.
