The new container ship Hamburg Express can run on biomethane and e-methane.

Hapag-Lloyd christened its new container ship Hamburg Express, flagship of its new class of boxboats, at Port of Hamburg’s Container Terminal Burchardkai in Germany on 4 November 2024. The 23,660TEU dual-fuel ship is part of the FE3 Far East service connecting Asia and Europe.
Measuring 399m in length, Hamburg Express is the seventh of 12 newbuilds from the Hanwha Ocean shipyard in South Korea.
