Gemsbok, Sossusvlei, Namibia
Flying low over the sand dunes of the Namib Desert was unforgettable. In the endless sea of orange, we spotted just the occasional antelope. I remember a strong wind was blowing that day, and for a brief moment this gemsbok paused on the crest of a dune. I fired off two quick shots and then he was gone. Many aerial images look tranquil, but working from a plane or helicopter is fast and furious. It’s the most difficult type of photography I do.
