Wells Festival of Literature has announced its international creative writing competitions for 2016.
There are three competitions: short stories, poetry, and – new this year – writing for children. In each category there are prizes of £500, £200 and £100. In addition, there is the Hilly Cansdale local poetry prize, worth £100, and the Wyvern local short story prize, also worth £100.
• Short story entries may be on any subject, between 1,000 and 2,000 words. The first page should include the title and word count.
