Lack of time: the writer’s constant complaint. If only we all had ‘more time’ we could do those things we’ve promised ourselves: write that novel, start that blog, selfpublish the memoir the world’s been waiting for.
It’s easy to think that successful writers must somehow have it easier than the rest of us: that they have grants or trust funds, so don’t need to work, or that they’re not burdened with household chores or childcare issues. But, at the start of their careers at least, most published writers do have to juggle ‘real life’ with their writing.
