A hotel owner from Strontian has been banned from driving for 16 months and fined more than £500 afterhe pleaded guilty to drink driving at Fort William Sheriff Court last week.
Graham McMenemy, 53, of Ben View Hotel, Strontian, admitted the offence , which took place on November 2, 2017, in which he drove his car on the A861 at Strontian with a breath alcohol reading of 120mgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 22mgs.
Procurator fiscal depute Matthew Kerr told the court last Wednesday that McMenemy, whose hotel stopped trading in September 2017, was seen by another road user driving erratically at about 5pm. McMenemy was then seen driving into the nearside ditch, close to the turn off to his home.
