TWO LOCHABER council workers have had their hard work rewarded at Highland Council’s 2017 Quality Awards. Emma Tayler, assistant ward manager for Lochaber, won a community award after being nominated by Voluntary Action Lochaber (VAL).
Company secretary of VAL Flora McKee said: ‘Emma goes the extra mile to support our board and her support has greatly helped many of us. She is organised, knowledgeable, empathetic, friendly and has a good sense of humour. We class ourselves as lucky to have someone with her qualities in a key role in Lochaber. She is a true ambassador for Highland Council.’
The 2017 Trainee of the Year award went to mechanic Kyle Dempster from the council’s workshop in Fort William where he works as part of a team keeping the fleet of heavy vehicles on the road.
