As we have reported on many occasions in recent times, this has been a boom period for the tourism sector in Argyll and the Isles, particularly, perhaps, in the Oban area.
And as we have reported previously, the positive economic outlook has been reflected with a number of investments, including the proposed construction of an 81-bed Premier Inn hotel on the site of the former indoor bowling facility in the town.
Now Argyll and Bute Council has invited expressions of interest from developers to build multi-storey car parks and hotels on the existing car parks in Albany Street, Tweeddale Street and Oban Esplanade.
