Glencoe ski man dies, aged 99

THE ‘FATHER of Scottish ski-ing’ Philip Rankin has died just a month before his 100th birthday.

Mr Rankin, founder of Scotland’s first ski centre at Glencoe, died on Sunday March 12 at his home in Ballachulish, aged 99. His close friend Viki Sutherland has given an insightful account of his life to The Oban Times .
