Islay Hospital plans to reduce number of beds from 10 to six

ISLAY Hospital plans to reduce its number of inpatient beds from 10 to six to create a new ‘one-stop shop’ day case unit.

Health officials are confident the six beds could meet demand for inpatient care, since they say the hospital has been operating at under 50 per cent bed capacity for more than three years.
