Swimrunners tend to use more kit that open water swimmers in their events. I’m not just talking about shoes. They often use paddles, pullbuoys and tow ropes. They carry food, drink and emergency kit with them. As the sport has evolved, several brands have developed innovative and practical products to make this easy, but if you’re just starting out or wanting to economise, then parting with your hard-earned cash is not the only way to get kitted up for swimrun.
