Patchwork and Quilting  |  August 2014
Kids are off school… have no fear! We have a fantastic four page pull out Kids Special with lots of things to entertain them! If you are lucky enough to go on holiday, don’t forget that inspiration for new quilts is all around us, and what better way to remember a wonderful holiday than by making a quilt! Among our quick make projects for you include The Beach Quilt, an ideal quilt to take to the seaside and another project using Makower fabrics is Jolly Farm, which features a great quick piecing technique, and the Trellis Quilt is a quick pieced quilt using a Layer Cake. Feature-wise we have a review of Ineke Berlin’s exhibition at the Quilt Museum, as well as a look at the final Loch Lomond Quilt Show. Helen Conway introduces us to Thermofax screen-printing, and with the Commonwealth Games almost upon us we take a look at the Commonwealth Banner created by a group of Scottish quilters.
