Patchwork and Quilting  |  August 2015
August and our projects this month are full of summer. Fall in love with Melanie Vincent’s Whimsical Caravans and for those camper van fans out there, the Camper Van Cushion is just for you. Summers should be full of picnics outside and the Totally Teal Tote and Water Carrier will add a touch of style to your al fresco eating. Our Forest Friends quilt makes an ideal quilt for sitting on, and we make a crazy patchwork heart in Heart Song. We visited Oakshott Fabrics recently to see what goes on behind the scenes of this British fabric company and we also see how much work goes into organizing the Festival of Quilts. We have a review of the National Quilt Championships held at Sandown Park and also take a look at the retrospective exhibition about Sonia Delauney at Tate Modern. Also In My Labour of True Love, Lynne Johnson tells us about her journey making an exact replica of the coverlet, which forms part of the Quilters’ Guild Heritage Collection.
