Patchwork and Quilting  |  February 2014
Our projects this month are inspired by colours associated with Valentine’s Day, as well as hearts. Four Weddings shows you how to piece the Double Wedding Ring block using freezer paper. Red v White uses a traditional block but shows you what happens when you change the position and arrangement of the blocks. Valentine Hearts features trapunto and we have a web extra for this project. If you are new to appliqué then Simple Hearts is an easy project to start with, while Quilting 4 Juniors shows you how to make a woven valentine heart.
We have some great features for you, we’ve dragged Judi back to write about her trip to Berkshire for Let’s Go Shopping and we also have a report on the Queen Mother’s Clothing Guild, a charitable organization. We have a review of the 2013 12 x 12 Exhibition at Midsomer Quiltiing, as well as a look at an inspiring quilt show in Canada at the Ailsa Craig Community Quilt Festival. Enjoy the issue!
