Patchwork and Quilting  |  October 2015
We bring you a few scrap busting and fat quarter friendly projects for you this month. Back to Basics is a wonderful scrappy quilt which everyone in the offices has said they would love to have on their bed while the Bright Batik Quilt is also a scrap friendly quilt. The Rainbow Tiger quilt is a gentle introduction into piecing curves and Home Sweet Home a quick pieced fat quarter friendly quilt. The Friendly Scarecrow is a seasonal foundation pieced wall hanging and we are almost at the end of our block of the month quilt, Heart Song. The Festival of Quilts in August was a wonderful show as usual and we persuaded former editor Judi Mendelssohn to review it for us. We meet Petra Prins whose Dutch Schoolhouse Quilt was featured in last month’s issue and take a look at the forthcoming ‘Transitions’ exhibition by a new textile group, Etcetera. We also take a look at the newest specialist group within the Quilters’ Guild, the Modern Quilt Group in the final part of this series of articles.
