You’ll need a long lens and good stalking skills to get shots of the bright-eyed brown hare
PRO ADVICE LONG LENS TIPS
A long lens of at least 300mm is essential for frame-filling shots of hares. A prime lens gives you excellent sharpness, a faster maximum aperture for low-light situations, and the chance to use an extender (e.g. a 1.4x) to boost your focal length. However, a modern zoom lens gives you good quality, and the flexibility to shoot at different focal lengths without moving position, which is handy with hares. The lack of a fast maximum aperture is less of an issue now, with many cameras offering improved high-ISO performance.
