CANON ROLLS OUT FIRMWARE UPDATES FOR 7 EOS R CAMERAS

New updates fix a variety of major and minor issues, and add lens support
© Brian Worley

Canon has released firmware updates for seven of its EOS R mirrorless cameras. The updates, for both APS-C and full-frame cameras, fix some annoying bugs and more minor issues, and they also add support for the recently released Canon RF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM lens.

The cameras receiving updates start from the entry-level Canon EOS R50 through the R10, R8, R7, R6 and R6 II, up to the current flagship EOS R3. While the firmware notes are slightly different between models, each fixes minor bugs and issues with the cameras, and all but the EOS R6 update add support for the aforementioned 0-18mm f/4.5-6.3 lens.
