NEW PTEROSAUR FOUND
pterodactyl on display at the Sedgwick Museum of Earth Sciences in Cambridge where the discovery was partly made. It is the oldest geological museum in the world.

The pterosaur called Ornithostoma was recognised at an early stage. This illustration by Mary Makes Dodge dates back to 1873, but clearly, not all the remains of these flying reptiles were clearly identified.

Palaeontologists have made an amazing discovery while searching through fossil collections in the UK that are a century old – a new mystery species of pterosaur, quite unlike anything seen before.
