Jackie reminded everyone what a remarkable historic connection the society had with the formation of organised Spiritualism.
One of its earliest presidents, George Wilson, worked alongside Emma Hardinge Britten in the 1870s with a view to producing a union of Spiritualist churches.
Born in London as Emma Floyd in 1823, Emma developed her mediumship while working as an actor in America. A lecture which she gave in London formed the basis of the SNU’s Seven Principles.
