FILE SHARING TOOL

F ile sharing over a network in Linux is a bit different than it is in Windows or macOS. Not in terms of transfer speed, of course, but in the way it works out of the box in the abundance of Linux desktop environments. To make things clear, going to a file’s or folder’s properties and ticking some boxes in the Share tab does not necessarily make sharing work right away — due to Samba issues or whatnot. That is perhaps the reason that third-party sharing tools pop up now and then. Specifically, we felt a bit of Déjà Vu when we got to know Dragit. Years ago there used to be another tool called Dukto (LXF207) with nearly the same MO. But, Dukto hasn’t been updated for a while, so if you still need a viable file sharing tool, it’s better to try Dragit instead.
