KINGS OF LEON: THIS TIME IT'S PERSONAL
As Kings Of Leon were making their new album, guitarist Matthew Followill asked his bandmates, “Has anyone ever actually made a great seventh record?” The four-piece took a time-out to check and they discovered that, yes, there have been a few: Revolver, Beggars Banquet, Born In The USA, Achtung Baby and Blonde On Blonde all worked out OK for their creators. Caleb Followill thinks that after a band has done so much, the seventh album acts as a kind of rediscovery period. The frontman knew that his group needed something similar with theirs.
