Following the return of steam to the Haigh Hall Miniature Railway for the first time in 29 years over October 29-30 (RM, December 2022) the owner of the locomotive, Tom Brackenbury, has told The RM that it will remain at the 15in gauge Haigh Hall line for the foreseeable future, enabling the continuation of steam-hauled passenger services.
The loco is a quarter scale model of an ex-ROD/GCR 04 class 2-8-0 No. 6284.
Constructed by Ray Crome and Roger Loxely for use on the Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway, where it made its steam debut in 2009, it saw regular use until being purchased by Tom Brackenbury in 2017.
