STADLER has been awarded a contract to build 537 overnight train coaches comprising 234 sleeper and 233 couchette coaches, plus 35 coaches adapted for use by disabled travellers plus train crew, and 35 generator cars for Kazakhstan’s national rail company KTZ. In addition, Stadler will maintain the vehicles for 20 years in the Kazakh Capital Astana. The vehicles will be built in Astana at the Tulpar factory jointly owned by KTZ and Spanish firm Talgo.
