Cork improvements progress
Electrification and new stations for Cork Commuters a step closer with the award of a €50m contract

THE delivery of eight new stations, electrification and a new depot for the Cork Area Commuter Rail Programme moved a step closer on May 24, following an announcement by IrishTransport Minister, Éamon RyanTD.
It was confirmed that consultants TYPSA and Roughan O’Donovan were awarded a €50 million contract by Iarnród Éireann (IÉ) as multi-disciplinary consultants for the design, planning and construction of the next phase.
