This month it is the turn of Network Rail chairman Peter Hendy, officially known as The Lord Hendy of Richmond Hill CBE, to face the tough questions from Steven Knight.
PETER Hendy was knighted in the 2013 New Year Honours, having been awarded a CBE in 2006. He became a peer in 2022 as The Lord Hendy of Richmond Hill, of Imber in the County of Wiltshire.
He was educated at Latymer Upper and the University of Leeds, where he graduated in economics and geography in 1975. He then joined London Transport as a graduate trainee and had various senior bus operating roles, becoming deputy director of First Group’s bus operations in London and Southern England.
In January 2001 he became Transport for London’s managing director of surface operations, leading what has been described as the largest long-term investment programme in London’s transport network in generations.
