The loco’s 100th birthday celebrations will include a visit to Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway’s May 13-14 Steam & Diesel Gala.

FOLLOWING news of the effort to secure the late Adrian Shooter’s Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR) Sharp Stewart B-Class 0-4-0STT (3518/1888) No. 19B (RM Headline News, April) it can be confirmed that the founding trustees of The Darjeeling Tank Locomotive Trust (DTLT) are all well-known and experienced heritage railway figures. They comprise Jeremy Davey (leader of the support crew for No. 19B while it operated at the Beeches line), Andy Savage (chairman of the Railway Heritage Trust), Gordon Rushton (ex-Ffestiniog Railway general manager) and Peter ‘Fuzz’ Jordon (Indian Railways expert and founder of Darjeeling Tours).
