Combat jinx
Growing up there were a few things I just didn’t understand, and I thought it must be my fault. Everyone else loves these things. Perhaps I’m just too young to understand. Case in point – spaghetti Westerns. My dad would love them. My friends would love them. But at eight I found them so dull. Who cares about cowboys?
Every couple of years I’d go back, thinking that maybe it was my fault, and I was too young the first time around. I went back at ten. Then at 12. And finally at 15 I realised the films were simply not for me. I had understood them at eight, I just did not like them.
