Dog is lonely. He lives in a world peopled (er, if that’s the right word) entirely by animals, which means that while a human would get a dog for companionship, Dog can’t. So he’s thrilled to come across an advertisement for a pet robot: a lanky, grey, Bender-style machine offering all the love Dog has been looking for. They’re both blissfully happy until a trip to the beach goes wrong – and Dog has to leave Robot behind on the sand…
