I love a mandala – they are
such a good way of stash-busting. I adore the colours of this Hook to Hook challenge – so bold and bright – and they remind me of hot summer sunsets.
I never plan much when I design a mandala. I let the colours and the yarn help guide my stitch choices and then see where that takes me so I delight in the surprise of the end result and then using the same pattern I enjoy switching the colours around for a completely different look. I was so excited when I was asked to take part in this month’s hook to hook challenge. I love a mandala make as I find it one of the most mindful items to crochet. When these gorgeous colours arrived, they reminded me of tropical flowers, so I incorporated this into my design, using the colours in a gradient and watching the gradual changes as it fully blooms.
