GREAT WESTERN, KING GEORGE V STAR OF TYSELEY SHOW
Swindon enthusiasts were given a rare treat over the weekend of October
24/25 when King George V made a brief appearance in a live railway environment alongside fellow GWR veterans. The 1927-built 4-6-0, which last ran on the main line twenty eight years ago in 1987, took part in a line up that also included fellow National Collection engine City of Truro and Tyseley’s own Rood Ashton Hall. Both of the NRM locomotives were calling in at Tyseley on their way from York for display at Swindon (SR443).
