Final Fantasy XVI
Square Enix’s long-running series goes full action, with spectacular results that aren’t final but definitely are fantastic – could this be the first genuinely unmissable PS5 experience?

It’s not that there haven’t been some excellent Final Fantasy games in recent years, but a proper sequel? That’s been a long time coming.
Final Fantasy XVI isn’t the first in the series to subvert the classic turn-based battle system, but it’s nonetheless radical for fully committing to real-time action. This brings plenty of opportunity for aerial juggling, dodges and counters, as well as the ability to stagger opponents to deal more damage. RPGs get a bad rap for grind, but the combat here is such a highlight that you’ll often find yourself looking for a fight.
